Started at the bottom left of the frame a hiking trail can be seen in the distance, leading towards the center of the frame, where a lone hiker can just be made out on the trail. The sandstone is varying shades of brown and red, and the landscape is sprinkled with green sage and juniper bushes. At the center of the frame near the top half the tallest, proudest desert towers stand like skyscrapers against the light blue sky, which is filled with soft white clouds. The sun is somewhere above the frame, creating a slight haze towards the top of the frame.

A very wide shot from the perspective of inside a sleeping bag, the edges of the opening of which frame the entire shot, a deep red, with a left hand holding open the bottom edge. The feet of the person in the sleeping bad can be seen just in front of the opening at the bottom center of the frame. The scene beyond is a broad landscape of a set of three tall, prominent rock towers piercing a brilliant blue sky at the head of a small body of water which stretches out toward the feet of the sleeping back. There is a broad streak of bright orange sunlight coming from out of frame at the left illuminating the towers and the tips of some surrounding rock, and the middle ground is in cool shadow. A band of bright orange and pink streak across the center of the body, reflecting off the towers at the opposite end. Some small patches of snow can be seen at the base of the towers, and a handful of soft white clouds are in the sky beyond.
